I was watching College Football live today and they were discussing 1-loss teams and David Pollack brought up that Ohio State's 1-loss hurts them the most. He said he watched the Virginia Tech - Pitt game and Virginia Tech is a mediocre team. He said you can't let a mediocre team come into your house and beat you. I agreed with this point. That was a bad loss but I feel as if there is a night and day difference between the OSU team that night and the current OSU team. Our Offense under JT Barrett's first start, under the lights, on national TV, was inept. Our Offensive line was starting 4 new players and the inexperienced showed. The funny thing is, we still had a chance to win that game.
Pollack did not mention anything I stated above. He went on to talk about how Oregon's loss was directly a result a one starter on the line being out. He said he watched the film and it was clear that this one player made a huge difference. Has Pollack watched the OSU-Virginia tech game? Did he see how bad the offense was that game? Did you notice that JT Barrett was constantly under pressure, didn't have a full grasp of the playbook, and that it was obvious that he was not comfortable running the offense that night? Has he watched the domination in the recent games OSU has played? Has he seen the Offensive improvement? Our offense had no identity against Virginia tech. Now our offense is one of the most dangerous in College Football. Does he not recognize this? I thought he was supposed to be a professional analyst whose job is to think critically about these types of things. How can he make excuses for Oregon because they were missing one player and not recognize that the team that lost to Virginia Tech at home is not the same team we see now.
Sorry for my rant... I know the answer to all these questions. David Pollack needs to take his SEC glasses off.
