The kick six proved pivotal. Down two points in the third quarter, OU attempted a 53-yard field goal that turned into a 110-yard "kick six". Oklahoma went down nine points and eventually lost by ten.

The loss is a major blow to Oklahoma. The Sooners participated in last year's playoff, but needed to will itself into the field of four despite an inexplicable loss to Texas. It knew in advance it may not get that lucky again this year, not with a three-game stretch that includes Ohio State, a trip to TCU, and the Red River Rivalry game with Texas that begins in two weeks.

We'll see what becomes of Oklahoma over the next two weeks. The Sooners return to Norman to play UL-Monroe next week. Thereafter, we'll know if the Sooners have recovered from this loss in time to host the Buckeyes.
