Former Ohio State assistant coach and current Ohio University head coach Jeff Boals is one win away from reaching the Sweet 16 after his Bobcats dumped No. 4 seed Virginia in the NCAA Tournament.

Boals' Bobcats ran through the MAC conference tournament to earn an automatic bid and handled the defending national champions to earn a date with No. 5 seed Creighton on Monday in Bloomington.

Ben Vander Plas led Ohio with 17 points and Ben Roderick chipped in 15. Guard Jason Preston was also sensational adding 11 points, 13 rebounds and eight assists.

The win marked the third-consecutive first round upset for the Bobcats in the NCAA tournament.

Boals was nothing but class during his time in Columbus as evidenced by the outpouring of support from many affiliated with Ohio State.
