After a hard-fought regular season that featured perhaps the most difficult schedule in the country, the Ohio State women's hoops team earned a No. 3 Seed in the NCAA Tournament and will host No. 14 seed Buffalo at 2:30 p.m., Friday.

As a top-4 seed, Ohio State has earned the right to host the first weekend's games in Columbus, in historic St. John Arena.

The best news for the Buckeyes: this selection puts them in the Sioux Falls region, which is opposite of No. 1 Connecticut. The Huskies are the runaway favorite to win their fourth consecutive NCAA title and is undefeated on the season, including a 100-56 win over the Buckeyes early in November. The only possible match-up between these two teams would be in the championship game.

The No. 1 seed in Ohio State's region is South Carolina – the team the Buckeyes faced in the season opener. Though they fell 88-80, today's Ohio State team is a much improved version of the one that took the floor in November. There's no reason to believe this team can't make a deep tournament run with the talent on this roster.
