Clemson Defensive Coordinator Brent Venables Wins 2016 Broyles Award

The Frank & Barbara Broyles Foundation announced Clemson defensive coordinator and linebackers coach Brent Venables as the winner of the 2016 Broyles Award, given annually to the nation's top assistant.

Venables, the fifth highest-paid assistant coach in 2015,  came to Clemson after a 13-year stint in Norman, Oklahoma under Bob Stoops.

Clemson's 2016 defense ranks No. 6 in S&P+ and No. 9 in total defense.
