As part of our season preview series we chronicled the list of career Ohio State records potentially primed to fall over the course of year. As you'd expect, J.T. Barrett highlighted the list as he's a real threat to break, or keep a hold of, no less than 10 school marks.

As you'd also expect, after completing 21 of 31 passes for 349 yards and six touchdowns with another score on the ground, Barrett is moving on up the Ohio State career records board.

Here's how Saturday's big game impacted his march to legendary status.

CAREER PASSING YARDS PER GAME

Entering Saturday, Joe Germaine was the school’s all-time leader in career passing yards per game at 172.2 after throwing for 6,370 yards in 37 games.

Also entering Saturday, Barrett sat in 2nd place with a 166.3 passing yards per game average thanks to 3,826 passing yards in 23 career contests. After going off for those 349 yards versus Bowling Green, Barrett is your new all-time school leader boasting an average of 173.9 passing yards per game (4,175 passing yards in 24 games).

CAREER 200-YARD PASSING GAMES

With 349 on Saturday, Barrett logged his 12th career 200+ yard passing game moving him four behind Bobby Hoying's school record of 16 such outings.

CAREER 300-YARD PASSING GAMES

Besides opening the BG game with a pick six Barrett was largely on target the rest of the afternoon on the way to those 349 passing yards. The 300-yard effort marked his 5th such outing, good for 2nd place in school annals.

Again, Germaine is the benchmark here with eight such games. Breaking this mark isn't a gimme for Barrett but is definitely reachable.

Barrett carved up the Falcons after a pick six to start the game.
CAREER 200-YARD TOTAL OFFENSE GAMES

Barrett gained on Braxton Miller's school record of 22 career 200-yard total offense games, producing his 16th occurrence with 379 total yards against the Falcons.

Sitting seven such games away from breaking the record it's hard to see a scenario where a healthy Barrett doesn't eclipse Miller's mark.

CAREER COMPLETIONS

Barrett's 21 completions Saturday pushed his career mark to 317, or 182 away from breaking Bobby Hoying's school record of 498. Assuming a worst-case non-injury scenario in which Ohio State fails to win the conference but does manage a bowl appearance, Barrett has least 11 games to go this year.

Completing about 16.5 passes per game during that span will ensure the breaks the record this season.

CAREER TOUCHDOWN PASSES

Entering the season with 45 career touchdown tosses slotting him just 12 behind all-time leader Hoying with 57, Barrett went to work on this record with six touchdown passes against the Falcons pushing his career mark to 51.

Now just seven away from breaking Hoying's mark, the real question here is whether or not he will break the mark at Oklahoma or against Rutgers following the bye week.

CAREER TOUCHDOWNS RESPONSIBLE FOR

Miller is the leader in the clubhouse with 88 touchdowns responsible for during his remarkable career.

Barrett entered Saturday in 4th place with 67 career touchdowns responsible for and went on to create a ridiculous seven touchdowns versus Bowling Green.

With his career mark now sitting at 74, it's just a matter of time before Barrett breaks Miller's mark and builds on it.

Beyond these marks poised to fall over the course of the season, Barrett is already Ohio State's career leader in Completion Percentage (64.4%), Most Games With Six Touchdown Passes (2), Career Average Total Offense Per Game ( 242.7), and Career 300-yard Total Offense Games (12).
