Though lacking a proven quarterback, Michigan returns the core of the team Ohio State demolished by more than four touchdowns last November, and America can't stop betting the Wolverines to win the 2016 national title.
According to David Purdum of espn.com, Michigan has received more national title bets than any other school, including national title favorite Alabama, at multiple Las Vegas sportsbook.
The Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook lists Alabama at 5:1 odds to win the title. Michigan trails at 7:1.
Ohio State, which is currently listed as a five-point favorite against Michigan, is tied with Clemson and Florida State at 8:1. And though more people have bet on the Wolverines to win the title, more money rides on the Buckeyes.
"[Ohio State] has about $20 more than Michigan," South Point casino sportsbook director Chris Andrews told ESPN.
Eighty-eight percent of the money bet on The Game rests on Michigan.
Oklahoma (10:1), LSU (12:1), Tennessee (12:1), and Notre Dame (20:1) are other title favorites.
