Ohio State handled Maryland — thus condemning Randy Edsall to the coaching gallows — and were re-installed as the top team in the AP Top 25 for another week.

The school's 102nd week at No. 1 is a sweet occasion for Ohio State because it sets the new mark for weeks ranked No. 1. OSU was previously tied with Oklahoma at 101 weeks with the press service's top ranking.

The Buckeyes, however, did lose some first place votes.

Michigan is all the way up to No. 12, and Tom Herman's Houston is up to No. 24. The Big Ten puts five teams in the poll — same as the Coaches Poll
