Please don't hurt 'em, Dolodale.

Over the last year, Cardale Jones has won hearts and minds with his outspokenness. He won a few more today.

On SportsCenter before Ohio State's spring game, ESPN reporter Tom Rinaldi sat down with Jones and J.T. Barrett to discuss the competition between them and Braxton Miller for the starting quarterback position. Jones acknowledged the tension: "I mean, it's weird... people would expect there to be friction," to some laughs.

Barrett was no slouch, talking about the specifics of his ankle injury (it was described as "almost at a right angle") and repeating as national champions, but Jones had the majority of the talking time. Both quarterbacks shrugged off Miller's injury; Jones noted the team mentality, while Barrett talked about how much Miller loved Ohio State.

Rinaldi asked a pertinent question: "If it's not you, Cardale, what do you say to J.T. if it's him?" Jones deadpanned "Oh, I'm out of here," to more laughs, before saying the right things about providing support from the sidelines.

Finally, Jones addressed Notre Dame coach Brian Kelly's necessarily homer claim that he'd prefer his quarterbacks to Ohio State's. Rinaldi broaches the subject about having multiple quarterbacks, and Jones shuts it down quickly:

RINALDI: There's a coaching cliche in college football that if you have two quarterbacks you really have none. What's your take on that, Cardale?

JONES: Then we're sorry for Notre Dame. Good thing we've got three.

As if that wasn't enough, Dolodale got into a brief verbal scuffle this morning with fellow trash-talker Joey Bosa.

Remind me not to get into a war of words with Cardale Jones any time soon.
