After a public disapproval over increased ticket prices last year, Ohio State on Wednesday announced it will charge $5 for general admission and $15 for club seats for its annual Spring Game, which is set for April 18 at 1:30 p.m. at Ohio Stadium.

The announcement appears to try and find a happy medium between making the intrasquad scrimmage affordable and netting a profit.

Last spring, after initially listing tickets at $12 in advance and at $20 for day-of-game purchases, the athletic department dropped the cost to $5 less than a week before the game, which drew 61,058 fans.

The decision to cut prices was, in part, at the urging of head coach Urban Meyer.

“I'd love to have 100,000 people in there,” he said last year. “That might be asking a lot, but it's been a cold winter. I hope people want to come out."

The Buckeyes, which captured the first-ever College Football Playoff National Championship in January, open spring practice next month.
