I'm not surprised by the order, but I am surprised at how top-heavy Ohio State is over everyone else. The jump from their odds to #2 is astounding.

I agree it is really lobsided I would've thought *ichigan St got more credit than that

Yeah, that's what stood out to me, too. Sparty will be a tough out this year, especially in East Lansing.

...and with a bye week before our meeting with them.

Byes are overrated. Most times teams come out flat after a week off.

Michigan hanging out at the ever so mediocre 5th in the conference, third in the division... sounds right

5th isn't including PSU who could potentially be over them as well.

Pretty interesting PSU is not even in the East.  I would think they could win the east but not play in the championship game a la OSU 2012.

I think there are still postseason sanctions.

I'm no degenerate gambler, but these jumped out at me for good value:

MSU 15/4 to win B1G

Iowa 5/1 to win West

Totally.  Time for me to purchase that Amex prepaid card that can be used internationally and open an account to start gambling.

On the bright side........33 DAYS TILL SEASON STARTS.  Get your beer chilled, your grills cleaned, your lucky shirt out of the back of the dresser, and spend time with your family the next 4 weekends to make up for the fact that you will dissapear for the next 4 months.

MSU odds are favorable for gambles. Nearly 4/1, and they get OSU at home. I'd have thought it'd be closer to 2/1, definitely worth tossing some money on it (I am a gambler, only partially a degenerate; sports gambling can be fun if done for the right reasons and amounts of money, adds a bit of intrigue)

Just saw Cincy is picked to win the AAC, take that strength of schedule.

As they should be.

Purdue might as well be 1000/1 or even more than that. It would take a series of catastrophes where the 11 other teams in the Big Ten get Marshalled in order for them to have a shot at winning the conference.

I think its surprising there'd even be bets taken on Purdue. Sure, ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN, but the likelihood they turn that pile of crap into conference title winning team must even exceed 1000/1. I suppose the fact they are in the West helps, but even 2000/1 would seem favorable for the boilers.

Do you think I can do the "Purdue wins the B1G once before 2035 bet" like McIlroy's dad? If I put like $50 on it would payout like 6 trillion dollars at least...right?

I think a more "Mcllroy" bet would be "Michigan to win a national championship in the next 65 years"....which would be in line with its track record.

Cheeky little bet: throw 10 bucks on the gophers.

It is clearly our job to go out there on the field and finish the job.

I think the reason is that Michigan St has only 5 returning starters on defense. But it's dangerous to harp on that because of the experience that the players behind them gained last season.
