In a sign college football IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER, Ohio State-Navy tickets (August 30th in Baltimore's M&T Bank Stadium) go on sale tomorrow at 10 a.m.

$125 for club level; $75 for lower and upper levels. (VIP 'hospitality' packages are also available.)

Tickets can be purchased through the following outlets:

It should be a fun game involving a lot of pageantry. The last time these two teams met, in 2009, the Midshipmen gave the Buckeyes everything they could handle in Columbus before eventually falling 31-27. Navy will be considered the home team this time around.

Hopefully Ohio State's defenders wrap their ACLs in titanium to avoid being injured by cut-blocks.

Expecting this to be a night game, but that has not been confirmed yet, has it?

Thank you ....and not to shoot the messenger, but that sucks.

Thought for sure it would be a "made for TV" night game. Really surprised by this.

clearly don't remember 2009…this will be a lot tougher of a game than most would like to think. The triple option is hard to prep for, especially when the opposing team knows what they are doing. Navy has a 3rd year starter under center, so they will move the ball. I wouldn't expect our defense to be that much improved early in the season, and with missed tackling being a huge problem, Navy could score some points. On paper right now, it'll be a decent game, I think Navy scores a few times, but Im not sure about their defense. Our offense will have to work through some early growing pains with new Olinemen, WRs, relative inexperience at RB, so it could be a close game into the 4th, but I think its just an annoying one, something like 56-21, with OSU pulling away a little later than we'd like making the score look slightly more enjoyable.

Yeah, these 1940's offenses are different enough to give most teams trouble.  I think when they play us they manage to score by passing, since we tend to sell out to stop the run.  We should win, but this ain't Florida Atlantic.

You need to play really good assignment football to defend the triple option. Not exactly our defense's strong suit over the last couple of years. If it is a yawn, it'll be because the OSU defense plays the most disciplined game we've seen in a long, long time. Hope that's the case, but definitely too early to call in a yawn.

Navy is a team that makes you look bad beating them.

We're breaking in a lot of new defensive players on a defense that last year pretty much sucked. They have an offense that gives poop fits to even good defenses.

We will eventually pull away, but I'd expect to be much angrier about this game than is usual for a season opener. Especially after the "they almost lost to Navy" drumbeat rolls on ESPN all the rest the day.

I think this will actually be a tough game.  Navy is a decent team to start the year out with.  They play hard and run an offense that you really don't see too much.  Will be a lot of cut blocks.  I look for a closer than expected Buckeye win!

Go Bucks!!

Any insight on tickets already available on StubHub for Navy and Maryland games - guessing they are season ticket holders? Current prices are already jacked. Example: OSU v. MD lowest = $120; Iowa v. MD lowest = $30.

PSL ticket holders for the Ravens etc.

If you want to buy tickets today the code is PSLNVYOSU on ticketmaster.

Honest question.  I know I am going to sound very ignorant, but does this occur for all games?  If so, do we know when the Michigan game is going on sale?  The reason I ask is that my father is a lifelong Buckeye fan, having grown up in Ohio.  He just turned 80 and has never been to a game (crazy, huh? He's been there for a graduation, but not football).  For his birthday, I want to take him along with my young son, who is also a Buckeye football nut (little kids are crazy.  He's ten and knows every player from last year and their number; his favorite player is Devin Smith which is a little obscure).  Three generations that have never been to a game.  I just assumed that I would have to pay astronomical prices from a scalper (and still may) but if there is a chance that I could buy them from Ticketmaster that would be money saved to spend on airfare, hotel, etc.

Wait for -ichigan's season to go down the crapper and you'll get seats affordable. Their people were giving away seats at the outhouse last year. This year their fans will dump their tickets rather than get razzed by us, during another victory

I dont know if people are giving this D enough credit. Yes it was a joke last year and yes they haven't stepped on the field yet and if we would of had the 2012 D last year we would have played for all the marbles. BUT our last 2 recruiting classes had our DBs ranked #1 in position classes and our LBs as well. With Ash coming in I really do look for the Silver Bullets to be back to "Ohio State-ish" form. Yes there will be a little gelling early in the game, nerves, etc. but we have some of the best coaches in America and with the fresh young talent that has been brought in over the last 2 years I look for them to want to prove that they are legit and they do belong. I really do think that the 1st game D will be better than what the whole seasons D was last year. Meyer could have played some players last year but didnt b/c he was stock piling for this year and the future. And as the year goes on they will learn to play 2gether better and get even better every week. Maybe i'm too optimistic but I truly believe that our D is going to make a statement from game 1 on. They will shut the Mark Mays and the goon from Georgia up once and for all. I look for this team to be one of the contenders not pretenders. This D will be pissed off and will prove it IS 4 real!!!! GO BUCKS!!!!

Recruiting class rankings are nice and I hope you're right, but I'll believe it when they prove it on the field.

I agree. I hate to pee in the punch bowl, but for hearing how "sick" this D is going to be going on 3 or 4 years now, it is time to see it proven and declare myself from "Missouri" if you will.   Lots of potential and sickeningly poor results.

Let's hope the optimism is warranted as this team will not have Carlos Hyde to eat up the clock let alone yards and TDs.

BuckeyeB9B82501's picture

I totally agree with ya both but this year is a little different in that there is talent about 8 + deep. You could only say that there were 3 (Grant, CB, and Roby) solid players last year. We all know how Roby played and Barnett was burnt almost every play. CB bailed him out the last 3 years pretty much and after CB went down he was exposed badly. And again Pitt Brown was a bust. Yes they are "unproven" but they all have more talent than what the rest had last year. Even if 1 or 2 pan out busts there are more than enough players to fill in. I am really excited about this 2ndary for the next 3+ years b/c we haven't seen this many studs at 1 position in quite some time. That alone is what I was really getting at. Studs across the board and very deep. Good time to be a Buckeye!!

Have fun in Baltimore, but be careful fellow buckeyes.

There's the Pickle bar near the stadium, Inner harbor and Fells Point are all great places to party. Just don't wonder outside those areas. It ain't Columbus.

Love it DJ. That's exactly what 75% of the city looks like.

I was hoping they would play the game at Navy's field in Annapolis. Now that is a great little party town.

I agree.  I can see the water tower at the stadium from where I'm sitting (my house).

The stadium is only 40k or so.  I would have thrown the largest OSU party ever for that game, crabs on the water then walk to the game.  My ultimate OSU dream but it won't happen as long as OSU is drawing 100k per game.  It's a great place to watch a game, but would honestly be overflowing if OSU were to play there.

UMD will play OSU at home but play PSU at FedEx. Playing home conference games off-site just shows the wrong mentality for a program like MD.  The huge games at home are what brings people to the stands for the other games.  I know there is $ involved but I bet I could make a business case for the long term benefits.

Yup, Baltimore has some really scary bad parts not far from the stadium over near the UMd hospital/shock trauma center, along with some really great areas. I agree with BUCNDC, stick close to the stadium area, Inner Harbor, and Fells Point, and you will be fine.

As to the tickets already on sale on StubHub,etc. for the Navy and UMd games, they have to be from season ticket holders who have had the same seats for a while. Here's to great weather and great games!

I also wish the Navy game was being held in Annapolis-lovely sailing town, with great traditions with the pomp and ceremony of a Navy game (hope they keep that). But the stadium is small, so I can see why they moved it to M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore.

mr.green's picture

I can't wait for this one. As you point out, Baltimore has some very nice places within walking distance of the stadium, too. Plus it's a noon game and you are surrounded by ex-military personnel. Nothing to worry about. And they can sell beer. Good times.

Navy- ND is at Fed Ex, I believe, so Navy fans are missing two Annapolis "home" games.

Just got my tickets, and made my hotel reservation (Brookshire Suites - hope it's decent enough).

Very pumped.

Going to try to catch the Orioles on Friday night too...may rent a car and drive out to Dogfish Head on Thursday...going to be a great trip!

Nutinpa's picture

Nice work! Did you go to Ticketmaster or Stubhub?

I found the selection....for the price....pretty disappointing.  I may opt to wait.

Orioles game the night before in Camden Yard would be a blast.

Don't know anything about your hotel, but you should have fun in B-more.

My kids live there and really like it.

jhart's picture

Went through Ticketmaster...$85.35 for tickets in section 552...which appear to be going for $149 on stubhub right now.  I'm kind of disappointed they're upper deck tickets for the price, but what are you going to do?  I'm curious to see what the prices do as we get closer to the event.  I'm guessing there's an initial surge on stubhub, it will cool off for a bit, surge again closer to the event, then dive as people try to unload them.

I've never been to B-more before, so I'm looking forward to the trip.  A couple buddies of mine and I are making the OSU out of conference games an annual "guys trip".  We went to the Cal game last year and had a blast, so I'm hoping for a repeat here.  Going to try to catch the sights too...Ft. McHenry, etc.  It's going to be a busy one!  I'm also an evolving craft beer fan, so I'm interested in soaking up some local brews as well.

cjmgobucks's picture

I got section 552 also!!  I'm happy they're around the 30 yard line.  I know they're a bit high but I don't know that I've ever had as good a vantage point for a college or pro game...  I'll take it!!

Nice!

I wonder if there is going to be any events that Friday night before the game like they did in Cali.  If not, I wonder if there should be an impromptu 11W gathering somewheres?

My 4 tickets are in 552 as well - sounds like we will all have one huge 11W party goin on.

Haha, me too!  552 = 11w East.  FYI, I initially tried to purchase at my local Ticketmaster retail outlet (Kroger) in an attempt to avoid the online service charges, but found they are not available here - probably just in the Baltimore area.  So, bit the bullet and bought online.

Nutinpa's picture

I went to Primo Seats (I guess the advertising on Bill King's show is paying off, lol) and they have seats in section 500 in low numbered rows for about $ 125 - 135.  Not too terribly bad and they look like good seats.

Still disappointed it isn't a night game, but looking forward just the same!

I'm about to get my tickets, any suggestions on section. Looks like 552 is essentially 11W.
