For one day only, we have a rare morning Hurry-Up!

Why? Well, it became clear Wednesday afternoon that 2025 quarterback Tavien St. Clair was about to commit to Ohio State, so it made sense to run yesterday's Hurry-Up a little later to let that news breathe. Another Hurry-Up will run later this afternoon at its regularly scheduled time, so there will be two that run in one day, for a limited time.

Anyhow, let's dive right in.

Louis enjoys OSU visit

Wednesday was Ohio State’s final recruiting camp of the summer, though it was exclusively a seven-on-seven tournament compared to the all-positions format of the previous five camps.

The championship game of the tournament was Findlay vs. Bellefontaine, with Findlay edging out a slight victory.

While the St. Clair vs. Ryan Montgomery final was the headline of the day, the Buckeyes had another highly-touted 2025 prospect on campus competing in the tournament in 2025 running back Byron Louis.

Louis, the former high school teammate of Ohio State freshman wide receiver Brandon Inniss, played for the Buckeyes’ house team in the tournament and helped lead his team to several wins in the competition. On his visit, the 5-foot-10, 180-pound running back spent plenty of time with Inniss, who’s been talking to him about what Ohio State is like.

“It’s always amazing when I come here, I love it here,” Louis told Eleven Warriors Wednesday. “I’m actually staying with Brandon right now. Of course, it’s a family and brotherhood here. But everyone has to put their own work in.”

Louis also spent time with Ohio State running backs coach Tony Alford while on campus.

“I’ve talked with him here and there,” Louis said. “All great things of course. Always great things. We talk about life, not everything is about football, football is only a small part of it. He’s checking on me making sure my well-being is good and things of that nature.”

In his team’s second game of the day, Louis scored a long touchdown en route to helping his team to victory (wearing a borrowed OSU helmet in the process), leading to smiles and congratulations from the sideline. Louis said the energy he feels around Ohio State is the biggest thing the Buckeyes have going for themselves as a program.

“The most appealing thing would most likely be the energy, there’s no negativity here in this building, I love it,” Louis said on the most appealing thing about potentially playing for Ohio State.

Adrian Wilson hoping for OSU offer

In addition to Louis, four-star Texas 2025 wide receiver Adrian Wilson was among the stars of the OSU house team in the 7-on-7 competition, consistently catching touchdowns (sometimes from Ryan Day’s son RJ Day) in different matchups while lining up on the outside.

Wilson had the undivided attention of Ohio State offensive coordinator Brian Hartline, who watched him perform Wednesday and gave him pointers on his game.

“It’s been good, he and I talked after almost every (7-on-7) game,” Wilson said of Hartline. “Yesterday, we talked for a little bit. In between games (Wednesday), we got some drills in, so that’s always good. He said he really likes me and that he just wants to see how I played.”

When his team wasn’t on the field, Hartline was giving Wilson a one-on-one workout inside the Woody Hayes Athletic Center.

“Getting in and out of breaks smoothly, in curl routes,” Wilson said of what Hartline was installing in the one-on-one sessions. “He wants you to fall off the line just so you’re not telling the DB where you’re going until the last possible second.”

Wilson met Marvin Harrison Jr. while on his visit and said he enjoyed talking with Ohio State’s standout wide receiver.

“Really his mindset,” Wilson said of what he admired the most about Harrison Jr. “When I was talking to him, he said he catches 5,000 balls a day. Thinking about that is actually crazy. I try to catch 100 in a day, but that doesn’t match up to 5,000. The mindset really stood out to me.”

Per 247Sports’ composite rankings, Wilson is considered the 110th-best prospect and the 19th-rated wide receiver in the 2025 class. He’s racked up nearly 20 Division I offers, but is still hoping for one from the Buckeyes.

“Ohio State has been my dream school, so if I got the opportunity to go here, this is probably where I’d go,” Wilson said. “I’m just trying to get that opportunity right now. It’s wide receiver U, the coaching staff has been consistent, they’ve been here and they’re going to be here. An offer would mean the world.”

Last season, Wilson caught 28 passes for 547 yards with eight touchdowns.

Jaime Ffrench includes OSU in his top 5

An Ohio State wide receiver target has narrowed his recruitment down to five schools before he makes his decision in a month. Five-star 2025 prospect Jaime Ffrench released a top-five Tuesday consisting of Ohio State, Alabama, Penn State, Notre Dame and Florida State.

Ffrench has a scheduled commitment date for July 22 and will choose from one of his five finalists.
