Todd Sibley committed to Ohio State during last year's spring game festivities, becoming the first tailback commit of the 2017 class.

Wednesday, over a year later, the four-star has decided to end the speculation around his commitment and has flipped from Ohio State to Pitt.

Since he committed to the Buckeyes, Ohio State added four-star running back J.K. Dobbins from Big 12 territory in March. Even with that pair in the fold, the search at tailback continued. Najee Harris, an Alabama commit and the nation's top player according to multiple services, and Cam Akers, a five-star from Mississippi, each visited in the spring, highlighting the search for an additional ballcarrier hadn't ceased.

Shortly thereafter we reported that Sibley, the state's eighth-ranked prospect, had been asked to take a grayshirt which would delay his enrollment to a later date. Eleven Warriors spoke with the 5-foot-11, 205-pounder and it was evident that the tailback was understandably flustered with the news.

"I felt disappointed. It was a huge letdown. To be committed for almost a year and remaining loyal the entire time," Sibley said. "(Playing at Ohio State) was the dream, so it was heartbreaking to hear it."

With Sibley's departure, Ohio State's top-ranked 2017 recruiting class is back to 13 commitments.
