Welcome to The Hurry-Up, which runs Sunday through Thursday, serving as your last stop for recruiting news and notes nightly. We'll recap the day as it happened and preview the days ahead while keeping our ear to the ground on the Ohio State recruiting scene.

TORRANCE GIBSON DECISION PRIMER, FINAL THOUGHTS

This weekend, Fort Lauderdale quarterback Torrance Gibson took to Twitter to let the world know he was close to a college decision.

Gibson, whose American Heritage Patriots won their district championship with a win on Friday night, is announcing at 1:00 p.m. at his high school following his Army All-American Bowl jersey presentation. A 6-foot-4, 205 pound athlete with offers from Ohio State, LSU, Miami, Oklahoma, Alabama, Auburn and a host of others, Gibson is expected by most who are "in the know" to pick the Buckeyes tomorrow. I reached out to one source with Ohio State on what they're feeling about tomorrow.

"Right now, it'd be pretty surprising if he didn't pick us," the source said. "There shouldn't be any surprises, but it's also important that we know it's not even close to over. We have to recruit everyone through signing day, but it's even different with Florida kids. It's going to be an interesting few months, but we believe we're the right fit for him and not just on the field."

Gibson has taken one official this season, and that was to Ohio State, so it's likely that yes, the Buckeyes are in the driver's seat for a commitment tomorrow. Miami, Oklahoma, and perhaps the duo of Mississippi and Mississippi State are all potential obstacles in signing him come February.

Gibson's commitment will be aired online. You can watch it here.

GRANT SCHMIDT CONTINUES INCREDIBLE HIGH SCHOOL CAREER

One of the unsung members of the Buckeyes' 2015 class, Grant Schmidt continues to have a pretty memorable high school career. After Roosevelt's (Sioux Falls, South Dakota) knocked off Stevens on Thursday night 49-7, Schmidt has now started 41 consecutive games, becoming the first player in program to start every game of his high school career.

For most of the season, Schmidt has played offensive tackle, but as the season turns to the play-offs, expect to see him line up at defensive tackle as well. He's an under-appreciated athlete according to one Ohio State source who's monitored his situation closely.

"I think Grant Schmidt might be the most overlooked player in our entire class," the source shared. "He's far more athletic than people get a chance to see and more important than that is he's the type of kid who really welcomes the grind, the hard work and wants to get to Ohio State and get his (butt) kicked in the weight room and on the practice field. This kid is an Ed Warinner special. Ed watched him, multiple times, and Ed is the one who fought for him to get an offer. He could be an All-Big Ten player by the time he leaves Columbus. Great attitude, great work-ethic and great desire to learn."

JOSH NORWOOD, RASHAD ROUNDTREE, BRANDEN BOWEN UPDATES

There were a number of key targets on campus in Columbus this weekend for official visits and while it's difficult to get information on everything that has happened up to this point, I've spoken to a few people about the primary visitors: Rashad Roundtree, Branden Bowen and Josh Norwood.

  • Roundtree: Perhaps the biggest "name" visiting this weekend, Roundtree appeared to have a good time on his visit according to a number of people who were around him. He's a quiet kid who doesn't reveal much about what he's thinking, so the Buckeyes aren't exactly sure where they stand right now. With a decision scheduled for this coming Friday, it's Ohio State or Georgia for the Evans, Georgia native. The Buckeyes are in the battle, but as of tonight, they're not sure what to expect. Great visit, great relationships and a need at safety for the Buckeyes could be enough to score the upset against the long-time favorite Bulldogs.

  • Bowen: There could be some movement regarding Bowen's commitment to Utah, and it could happen soon. The 6-foot-7, 330-pounder from Utah has been a regular topic of conversation among Ohio State's other visitors this weekend, who've made repeated comments about his considerable size. Because he's visiting until Monday, there's not much communication with Bowen at this point out of respect for Ohio State and his privacy on the trip, but I did get a text message from him.

"I'm going to go home with a lot to think about over these next few weeks," Bowen said. "I've got to go home, talk things over with my family a bit more and then see where things stand."

I'm not a betting man, but if I were, I'd place pretty good odds on Branden Bowen eventually joining the "Elite '15."

  • Norwood: Norwood, the former Cincinnati commitment who is also from Georgia, returned to the Peach State today. He had, according to the three-star defensive back, a "great" time at Ohio State. There were a few things in particular that stood out to him, he revealed to 11W tonight.

"The atmosphere was great," Norwood said. "It was really just getting to meet the players and the game. It was cold, but it's something I could get used to. I can adapt."

Norwood will likely make official visits to Wisconsin and Cincinnati before a final decision is made.
