Chris Holtmann was hired Friday as the 14th men's basketball coach in Ohio State history.
Holtmann, who coached the last three seasons at Butler, replaced longtime coach Thad Matta, who was let go Monday after 13 seasons leading the Buckeyes.
As fate would have it, Matta was on Butler's campus Friday as all of this went down. Naturally.
Ironic that fmr #OhioState coach Thad Matta on #Butler campus on day @ChrisHoltmann leaves to replace Matta. Daughter considering #Butler. pic.twitter.com/yJFalMak2c

This just happened to be an incredibly ironic situation, though, as Matta was there with his family. One of Matta's daughters is apparently considering Butler — the school her dad played at and coached one season — and she was visiting campus Friday.
You can't make this stuff up.
