Ohio State announced Thursday senior guard Raven Ferguson has been dismissed from the women's basketball team for a violation of team rules.

“I’ve enjoyed having the opportunity to coach Raven this past year,” Ohio State women's coach Kevin McGuff said in the statement. “And it’s unfortunate that we’re at this point, but due to a violation of team rules she can no longer be a part of our program. I wish her nothing but success as she moves forward as a basketball player and as a person.”

Ferguson, a Columbus native, was named honorable mention All-Big Ten last year and has appeared in 95 games for the Buckeyes. Last year, she averaged 10.8 points and 5.4 rebounds per game.

The Buckeyes are set to begin their season at Virginia on Nov. 14.
