A scoring change, made official about an hour after the conclusion of Saturday night's game, converted an error into a hit. Mejia's streak stands at 50 games, the fifth-longest streak in minor-league history.
Mejia raced to second base on what was initially ruled an error on Winston-Salem third baseman Gerson Montilla. Now, Mejia is credited with a double.
Mejia hasn't gone hitless in a game in which he has logged at least one official at-bat since May 25. It appeared as though that streak had come to an end on Saturday, when his High-A Lynchburg squad lost, 7-5, in 10 innings. Mejia walked with two outs in the ninth.
#Hillcats official scorer was in the clubhouse for roughly an hour, in manager Mark Budzinski's office much of that time. #Indians #MiLB
