You wouldn't think many players would commit to their school of choice on a day known for fools. However, it did not prevent Elijah Rodgers from committing to Indiana earlier this afternoon.

Rodgers' verbal made me wonder how many Buckeyes committed on this date? Since 2011, only two players have been bold enough to pledge their allegiance to Ohio State on April Fool's Day.

The two players? Safety Jayme Thompson of Toledo Central Catholic and a certain running back from St. Louis committed on 4/1/2012.

At the time of Elliott's commitment, many Buckeye fans were hoping that Derrick Green was going to be the featured back in the '13 class. With hindsight, it is obvious the only fools five years ago were those questioning Urban Meyer and his staff for wanting Ezekiel Elliott over Derrick Green.

I guess April 1st isn't always about getting fooled.
