Mike Hall Jr. is selected 54th overall in the second round of the NFL draft by the Cleveland Browns.
Director of scouting for 247sports, Barton Simmons, posted an article on his thoughts from The Opening, this is what he had to say about Cooper:
***Ohio State commit Jonathan Cooper has 5-star characteristics. In 2015, Shane Ray was a first-round NFL draft pick at 6-3, 245. In 2014, Dee Ford got picked in the first round as a 6-2, 252-pound defensive end. In 2012, Bruce Irvin at 6-3, 245 got picked in the first round. If you've got other unique traits, you can develop into a first round talent at Cooper's size (now 6-3, 238) and Cooper has the unique talents of motor and pass-rush instincts. A year ago, I would have never believed that Cooper would develop into a five-star type of talent but the kid's body keeps evolving and he keeps getting better. Those are the guys you bet on: the guys that make consistent, tangible strides over the course of their high school career. Not the kids that get a bunch of offers as sophomores and then sit on them.
Cooper has been dominant at every camp he has attended this offseason, from when he attended The Opening Regionals in Atlanta and didn't lose a single rep, to when he won defensive line MVP over Rashan Gary and tons of other top defensive linemen at the Rivals 5 star challenge.
If he gets his 5th star, it will be well deserved.
