Comparison, Similarity, and Difference

Consider, if you will, a Comparison…a Similarly (of paths)…and a Difference.

The curtain rises on two schools that genuinely hate each other enough to go to great lengths to defeat their nemesis.  Extra practices, special plays, and in this case…shenanigans beyond the pale.

The Cheaters who “won the national championship” admittedly did have a roster of many veterans who vowed to stay so that they could taste what two decades of their fallen brothers could not…multiple wins over the Buckeyes.

After Jim Harbaugh whimpered and scampered away from the 2020 game, a decision was made by him…and his players bought into this coach-created cheating scandal, fully aware that it was an unprecedented foray into the shadow realm reserved for vile creatures of the night.  Yet the players trusted their coaches, fell in line as participants in a parody of honor…and an entire cheating culture was created.

That new culture demanded that they win at any cost.  Any cost.  They gladly paid that cost to beat Ohio State after two decades of misery, pain, and humiliation.

Even if it meant sacrificing the integrity they had claimed as a university “doing things the right way” and scoffing at the inferiors all around them.  Now, when literally anyone hears the phrase “doing it the Michigan way” in the foreseeable future, that phrase will be inexorably tied to an arrogant school, team, and fan base that had deluded themselves into believing their team’s criminal action was a “nothing cheeseburger”.

The entire franchise…the school, team, and fans…will forever have to acknowledge and shoulder the shame and humiliation their false lord and savior brought upon his whore-ish alma mater.  I fart in their general direction.

Michigan was humiliated and humbled in 2020.  And that was after those two decades of pain.  And they were hungry.  So hungry that the cheating scheme grew legs…the legs of a Stallion.  The rest is history…well-documented-and-established-beyond-a-doubt history.

And for you “allies of alliteration”…

Harbaugh and his son Jay are deeply complicit in a cacophony of cancerous cankers, culminating in Conner’s chaos.

In the end, the school up north sold its literal corporate soul (integrity is the worst thing to lose in that arena), and did it for a few baubles more.  (sorry I’m an Eastwood fan).  Baubles that likely will be on display for the briefest of times, and then scuttled away to a dark place in college football history…their name forever sullied.

Now…for the comparison, and similarity, and most importantly…the difference:

Ohio State…after enduring the brunt of the focus (as per the Manifest), and suffering three consecutive defeats in crushing fashion at the hands of a well-oiled cheating machine…has made their own move.

So, in 2024, a veteran-led, humiliated, angry, and hungry team will emerge right off the Olentangy.  And I pity the fool who steps in front of them (yeah, I like him too).

The only difference between the paths of these two schools who hate each other with an unmatched passion…is that Ohio State will do it…without the cheating.

Go git you some, fellas!
