So I am not Urban Meyer but it appears there was a quick adjustment that could have been made early in the game when Missouri was applying intense pressure with their edge rushing/blitzes. Ohio State stuck with 5 on the offensive line, 4 alinged/spread as receivers, QB and RB. You are going to lose the line of scrimmage all day, as they did, trying to defend a stacked/blitzing box with just 5 OL to block (especially with a new center and jumbled o-line).
Here is a simple solution. Two tight ends, Two wideouts and keep the RB back to block/swing out if no blitz. Same for the tight ends if no blitz. More on the line to help open holes for running plays to keep Missouri honest and have plenty of short pass options to help Brown get comfortable. It keeps Missouri honest early and opens up the offensive possibilities and at least give the QB and RB a fighting chance.
Was it not as simple as that?
