Offense

Pros:

1) Marv was as advertised, truly an all-time great!

2) When healthy Tre was outstanding.

3) Cade was awesome, too bad he got dinged late and wasn't himself the last few.

4) Young receivers flashed at times.

Cons:

1) QB was not elite to say the least.  To the casual eye Kyle did not progress over the season on top of not developing anything behind him.

2) Brown was not good last night and he is apparently made of glass.  He literally stubbed his toe and was out for the rest of the game.  Three injuries in one season seems strange for a backup.  If he could not win the starting job over a guy that who's best offer was freaking Syracuse he is definitely not him.

3) O-line was as bad as I can remember.  Whatever that abomination that was on the field last night was I suggest we never see it again.  Recruiting, development and portal management has been terrible and needs fixed in a hurry.

Defense

Pros:

1) Obviously so much improved.  The lack of explosive plays given up was refreshing.

2) Burke was so good and really showed out.

3) The D line was very solid and was dominant for large stretches of the season.

4) LB play was decent for most of the season.  Not elite but solid.

5) Safeties were really good until they got devastated by injury.

Coaching

Pros:

1) Hartline recruited potential studs again.

2) Knowles showed he can adapt and change.

That's all I can come up with!!

Cons:

1) Day just seems lost at time.  The game plan and management last night was borderline criminal.  His play calling is suspect as is the recruitment, development and management of the QB room.  Losing to TCUN for a third time in a row is unforgivable.  He needs a hard evaluation top to bottom. Honestly losing last night wasn't a sin considering the qb situation, it is just the absolute clown-show that was on the field.

2) Special Teams have been a disaster all year and last night was just the cherry on top.

3) O-line coaching has produced the worst unit on the team.

4) D-line coaching did not develop any depth and that ultimately lost two games.  Dominated TCUN and Missouri for 3/4 of those games but eventually wore down and got dominated late to lose those games.

5) QB coaching did not do anything to help the room and did nothing to develop anyone behind McCord.

It is hard not to feel like this program is at a crossroads and needs an overhaul.  Whatever that looks like hopefully it gets done asap!!  Top to bottom needs evaluated and huge changes need made or the product we see on the field will not improve.  What we have seen the last three seasons is not good enough for OSU and really should not be tolerated. The money that is spent on the program demands a better product and has to improve quickly!!!

Here is to hoping we don't have to follow this football season with another Chris Holtman January meltdown.
