I was waiting for this season to end to compile my perspective.  
 

CJ lost 4 times and never beat TTUN.  Those are facts, sadly.

However, he never had a defense help him out. In those 4 games he threw for over 350 yards and multiple TDs in each loss. In those four games, our defense was terrible at all the wrong moments.

He finally played a complete game in that he proved he could scramble and keep the chains moving. I actually think that at times he reflected a “tight” Ryan Day in these losses and wasn’t encouraged to go win the game like he was tonight.  

CJ isn’t perfect, but perfection is impossible. He can’t win games by himself when the defense is THIS poor.

I think CJ is the best pure passer and most NFL ready (now) QB that we’ve had at Ohio State in the last 40 years. I think he is a warrior and proved it definitely tonight.  Man, what this kid would have done with the 2016, 17, or 19 defenses.
