I know that TCU has not lost yet, but if they do, OSU should not allow ESPiN and other sports outlets to control the narrative. They need to be proactive and make their case to the committee with the following points. OSU probably poses the biggest threat to Georgia of any team in the top 4, so naturally people in SEC country and espn, cbs, etc, want Georgia to have the easiest matchup possible…and that’s TCU.

  • OSU and TCU have beaten the same number of FBS teams. TCU should not get extra credit for winning 12 games, with one being FCS Tarleton State.
  • TCU should not get credit for playing in a conference championship game, because if the B10 was setup like the B12 (with no divisions), then OSU would also be playing in a conference championship game.
  • OSU has the better win (#8 PSU on the road). TCU’s best win is #10 Kansas State at home, with Kansas State missing their QB.
  • OSU’s only loss was to #2. TCU would have a loss to #10 Kansas State.
  • TCU needed overtime to beat 7-5 Oklahoma State. This should count as a tie.
  • TCU needed a last second field goal to beat 6-6 Baylor
  • TCU won 8 games by 10 or less points, OSU’s closest margin of victory was 11 points (against a ranked Notre Dame)
  • OSU has had key injuries that would be expected back during the playoffs. Jaxon-Smith is one of the best WR’s in the country. Also numerous injuries in the RB room and along the lines.
  • The committee’s mandate is to pick the 4 best teams, not the 4 most deserving. OSU would be double digit favorites over TCU.
