I'm not saying he should be fired, but I have major problems with the way this program has regressed under his direction. His 45-5 record is massively inflated by beating up on bad Big Ten teams and he loses almost every time he faces a team with close to equal talent. He has won 1 big game in his 4 years at Ohio State (2020 Clemson). He has a massive talent advantage against every team he faces (including Ttun) and yet he never seems to maximize that talent. His team's are undisciplined (tons of penalties including multiple unsportsmanlike conduct penalties yesterday) and lack leadership. The body language of this team has been terrible all year (especially Stroud with his constant pouting and showing up his teammates) and is a direct reflection of the mentality that he has instilled as the head coach. The coaching staff can't make adjustments and routinely gets outcoached. They win a lot of games because their talent advantage is large enough to overcome the bad coaching. There is absolutely NO excuse for losing that game yesterday. You're at home, have a clearly more talented team, Ttun doesn't have their best played, you have the revenge factor, have everything on the line (Big Ten title and CFP), and you get punked once again. As much as we make fun of Harbaugh, he has gotten his team to play well above their overall talent level. Ohio State has superior talent and still finds a way to get blown out at home. Day is a very average coach who would probably average 7-8 wins a year at a lesser program.
