We’ve seen this story before with Day when he falls in love with the passing game and either costs us the game or makes the game unnecessarily close.
- There was no reason to pass 50+ times. Typically a team would pass for that much when a) the run game is horrible and you don’t have a running back to lean on or b) you’re behind on the score board. Neither was the case today.
- He put CJ in situations where he could fail and make a young mistake. That near fumble should have never happened because the coach shouldn’t have called that play in the first place
- Day’s lack of commitment to running the ball put the game into jeopardy. Passing the ball instead of killing the clock isn’t something that a veteran coach would do
Day has to have more balance and we are going to struggle if we don’t.
