Chase Young has firmly entered the Heisman Trophy conversation after his dominant performance against Wisconsin on Saturday, and the Ohio State defensive end is now officially being considered for another award that honors college football's most outstanding player, as well.
Young was one of two defensive linemen, along with Auburn's Derrick Brown, who were added to the watch list for the Maxwell Award on Monday.
His addition to the watch list comes just one day ahead of the Maxwell Award's scheduled announcement of its semifinalists on Tuesday, which presumably means Young is positioned to be named a semifinalist, as well.
J.K. Dobbins and Justin Fields were already on the preseason watch list for the Maxwell Award, which did not include any defensive players.
