Dwayne Haskins was still wearing his No. 7 jersey when he took to the podium Saturday to calmly answer questions about having turned Michigan’s top-ranked defense into dust.
Asked how he wants Buckeyes fans to remember him, Haskins replied: “I’m not done yet. But I want to be (viewed) as one of the best to ever do it at this university.”
Haskins already has joined elite company as the winner of the 2018 Chicago Tribune Silver Football, first awarded to Illinois’ Red Grange in 1924.
He is the 18th Ohio State player to earn the award, which goes to the Big Ten’s best player as voted by conference head coaches.
The last four Buckeyes to win it were also elite offensive talents: Troy Smith, Braxton Miller (twice), Ezekiel Elliott and J.T. Barrett.
