Ohio State defensive tackle Mike Hall Jr. is selected 54th overall in the second round of the NFL draft by the Cleveland Browns.
In a beautifully well-thought out blog from season's end last year, our friend posted what seemed a triumphant defense of our beloved conference. SEE (Angry Woody's Blog Post, "Ohio State sucks. They play in a crappy conference and are terrible" from November 25, 2013). In brilliant fashion, he defended the Big Ten with maths that worked, and I felt better about things.
Today, the agony has abated somewhat. Nausea has set in. Let's face it, folks. Our conference is starting to live up to what every non-Big Ten fan says it is; a graveyard. I just vurped Scarlet and Gray. Sigh.
Where should blame be assessed? The OOC scheduling? Nope: our teams can't beat lesser opponents, why should we think scheduling strong ones would make things any better? The SEC hoarding athletes? Please, weather has been nice in the south for a long time; I'm not buying that warm weather attracts better players.
So what is it? Why has our conference fallen so far from favor?
I need a nap.
