I can't link to a story in the Wall Street Journal, but this gives the gist. Iowa cutting $8M and Nebraska slicing $13M from the university budget. You can bet that extra $15M from the new TV contract will be a tempting target. I'm not saying they will get all the increase, but the departmental jealousy of athletics would be over the top if they didn't get some of it. At least Iowa has a potential new source. Iowa State, once again, will be the stepchild.
I think it's a given OSU will cross the $1M barrier for assistant salaries, but I don't see it matching SEC levels. I'm sure they are also planning some of the new money for the planned new facilities. OSU already gives a significant share back to the university & I'm sure there will be a bump.
