Article in the Minneapolis Star Tribune reporting conversations between the B1G and ASU about the Sun Devils joining the B1G as an affiliate member for hockey only. The article mentions at least three unidentified B1G schools are exploring starting their own teams as well. The impact of Penn State and the success they've had has whet the appetites of a lot of western and southern schools, many who have club programs that draw very well attendance wise. I don't know what this means for Ohio State directly, but I wish Gene Smith would green light a new arena (and not that ridiculous 3,000 seat plan). Penn State is showing what can be done if the university gets behind the team and Arizona State feels they can do the same. C'mon Gene, build a 5,000-6,000 seat arena and we'll start vying for championships.
