Gonna be like Cats and Dogs ...

Knarcisi's picture

80,000 in the Jerry Dome. Hope Emmert and the NCAA make out cause only 5% of those are actually good seats.

These Guards for UConn are tough.

UConn looks pretty good so far, but UK has come back from first half deficits their last 4 games.

“Nothing that comes easy in this world is worth a damn.” -Woody Hayes

teddyballgame's picture

uconn guards are so quick.

harrison twins looking rattled

Knarcisi's picture

Welcome boys. Was gonna say, what's it take for a guy to get some game chat here?

+1 HS
southbay's picture

This is not looking good for Kentucky.  Inexperience showing.

Knarcisi's picture

1-3-1 zone from UConn.

Deadly Nuts's picture

Kentucky's gonna start throwing lobs and all the momentum will shift.

LEBRON

Knarcisi's picture

They're hitting some jumpers ...

Deadly Nuts's picture

Kentucky just got Shabazzed....

LEBRON

Deadly Nuts's picture

I remember Calipari saying the three was a bail out shot....

LEBRON

teddyballgame's picture

uconn doesn't like ky going to the zone

Knarcisi's picture

Sounds familiar.

Deadly Nuts's picture

I can barely watch this.... Every single comment is about the poise and maturity of Kentucky.

LEBRON

Knarcisi's picture

Ollie ... "we're a 2nd half team too". Love it.

+2 HS
Deadly Nuts's picture

Connecticut should just start fouling Dakari Johnson with their back-ups.... He's a 45% FT shooter.

LEBRON

Knarcisi's picture

At least the announcers wouldn't get trapped into saying "Hack a Pollock".

Knarcisi's picture

I thought a lot of tricky tack hand check calls on UConn.

+1 HS
Knarcisi's picture

Doesn't CBS know that Barkley affects their ratings?  When they were running multiple channels, I'd turn off whichever one he was on.

+1 HS
TheShookster's picture

I feel like the Cats and Dogs comment went under appreciated. well done. which team is playing and is not in the SEC? Go that team.

+1 HS
Knarcisi's picture

Bow wow wow yippy yo yippy yeah.

countrybuckeye's picture

I am hoping the gritty players of UConn can get it done.  They would wipe the s#@&-eating grin off the eSECspin writers thinking out loud it was gonna be FLA vs. UK.

Both teams playing well.   Watching their skill and execution makes me sad for the Bucks and their anemic offense.

southbay's picture

I'm expecting to see something very different from the Basketball Buckeyes next year.

I hope some guys are already hitting some weights.

Seattle Linga's picture

Just got in from the 9-7 or something close to that - about to enjoy the 2nd half. Hello Everyone

+2 HS
southbay's picture

Calipari did a good interview coming out for the second half.  Doesn't seem worried.

+1 HS
Seattle Linga's picture

As the 8th seed he's got nothing to lose

+1 HS
southbay's picture

I hear you, but that's not your typical #8 seed, I suspect.

+1 HS
Seattle Linga's picture

I agree Southbay and I think he realizes this is all part of the process.

Seattle Linga's picture

He would love to stick it to the NCAA

Seattle Linga's picture

First glance of the evening - any trends in the game in the 1st half?

southbay's picture

Julius Randle was pretty quiet early on, they said he might have cramps or a bad ankle, but he got it going after the score was 30-15.  Kentucky looking like the better team since then.

+1 HS
Knarcisi's picture

UConn came out strong. Guards were too quick. Went up 30-15. UK went to zone and slowed them down and shot well from 3 to close the half.

+1 HS
Seattle Linga's picture

Thanks guys 15 points is nothing with the energy they bring when they are on their game. If they had played like this during the season - some of those embarrassing losses never would have happened

southbay's picture

Well fans at South Carolina and a few other schools have had something to crow about, but nobody else cares now.

Seattle Linga's picture

Husky big men can not penetrate against K big trees

Knarcisi's picture

These alternate camera views just don't work.

+1 HS
Kid Gloves's picture

Noticed the same thing!

southbay's picture

UConn might be able to hit enough threes to stay in it.  And maybe get a few more steals.  They're getting pushed around under the basket.

teddyballgame's picture

I think Kentucky played their best game against Wichita St and it was close as hell.  This could have easily have been WSU vs Uconn...

wonder how many remember that

Knarcisi's picture

Best game with highest level of play I can remember in the round of 32.

Seattle Linga's picture

That game seemed like so last year

Knarcisi's picture

Young ... oMG.

+1 HS
Seattle Linga's picture

Kentucky better hope this doesn't come down to free throws

+2 HS
Knarcisi's picture

Could be the difference. Shades of Memphis for Cal.

+2 HS
southbay's picture

He's not in Kansas any more.

+1 HS
Seattle Linga's picture

So true - I don't have a horse in the race but I would rather see Uconn win and not K

southbay's picture

Same here, but they both have trophies stacked up like cord wood.

+1 HS
Seattle Linga's picture

Neither of them need another hoop trophy and Uconn's womens team is playing tomorrow night

+1 HS
Kid Gloves's picture

Napier is a great player but needs to play his best down the stretch

+1 HS
Knarcisi's picture

Unlike the PG from Louisville.

Knarcisi's picture

Boatright has the prettiest step back.

+1 HS
Seattle Linga's picture

Nothing but net on that last one

Knarcisi's picture

That's his 3rd or 4th one. Hit a few in the first half too.

Knarcisi's picture

UK is like a hockey team on a power play. Just throw it near the rim.

+1 HS
Seattle Linga's picture

Just when the nightmares stopped from the olympics - both men and womens team you brought those games back up thanks Knar, thanks alot.

+1 HS
Knarcisi's picture

I still blame you for the first Penn St loss this year.

Knarcisi's picture

Another FT miss.

southbay's picture

But they're still missing the freebies.

Knarcisi's picture

UK finally out of luck.

Kid Gloves's picture

Too much time on the clock to say that brother

+1 HS
southbay's picture

That German fellow Giffey is playing a hell of a game for UConn.  No big numbers but making good plays at both ends.  Really playing his ass off.

+2 HS
Seattle Linga's picture

You had me at : THAT GERMAN FELLOW - LOL

+2 HS
Knarcisi's picture

Young is unbelievable.

Seattle Linga's picture

Great job Huskies - well deserved game

+2 HS
southbay's picture

Knarcisi what were you saying about Memphis?

I thought UK would be able to overcome the missed free throws, that's why I said Calipari wasn't in Kansas any more, but UConn held on.

Knarcisi's picture

FTs ... UConn 10-10.  UK 13-24.

Knarcisi's picture

Thought UK should have fouled.

southbay's picture

This is where I might disagree...UConn doesn't miss free throws.

+1 HS
Knarcisi's picture

Agreed, but I don't think you have a choice. Down 4 and just let the clock go to 30 sec?  They were in 1 and 1. Have to play that card.

southbay's picture

Perhaps Coach Cal was banking on one more clutch three.  Or two more, I guess.  Either way a rock and a hard place.

Seattle Linga's picture

I think what he was saying was that instead of letting the clock wind down - foul because time was of the essence. They probably were going to hit them but under pressure you never know. No big deal

Knarcisi's picture

UK lost. It's all good.

Deadly Nuts's picture

Good thing Pay Cal didn't escape with another one.

LEBRON

ON A SIDE NOTE - THANKS KNARCISI FOR THE OPEN THREAD

+1 HS
Knarcisi's picture

Glad to have the company. And hey, no more Barkley. Onto the Spring Game then wishing away summer again.

-1 HS
southbay's picture

Let's hope the summer is quieter than last year.

Seattle Linga's picture

Health and he got in trouble with NCAA sanctions so he "Retired"

+2 HS
southbay's picture

I seem to recall hearing about the health issues, not the sanctions.

Thanks for the reply.

Knarcisi's picture

Fuck you, Emmert.

southbay's picture

So why isn't Jim Calhoun the UConn coach any more?

Alpo's picture

Because he's a three time cancer survivor, almost 72 year old man with 3 national titles and happens to be in the hall of fame. I'd say those are good reasons. I'm a Uconn fan and its a good day to be one!

+1 HS
Deadly Nuts's picture

Serious Question: Does Emmert show up to all title games like tennis, golf, soccer, swim and lacrosse or does he only go to the money making ones like f-ball and b-ball?

LEBRON

Deadly Nuts's picture

Did Shabazz just Shabam the NCAA for banning them last season?

LEBRON

+1 HS
southbay's picture

Yes he did.  He certainly did.  What are they going to do to him?

teddyballgame's picture

pretty nice game, a lot more entertaining before ky switched to the zone defense.

wonder how it would have gone if they played zone the entire game

Knarcisi's picture

Best of all outcomes. No Florida, no UK, no Wisconsin. No scUM!

+1 HS
Seattle Linga's picture

Did you just say No SCUM - What time is it Knar?

+1 HS
Knarcisi's picture

11:50 ET and scUM still sucks.

+2 HS
CaliforniaBuckeye's picture

Well Kentucky seems mad...
