Came across this off Yahoo earlier, linking the original source (Orange County Register) of the story:

"Former football star Todd Marinovich pleaded guilty on Tuesday to misdemeanor public nudity, drug and trespassing charges stemming from his arrest in Irvine last year.

Appearing in the Harbor Justice Center in Newport Beach, the former USC and Raiders quarterback pleaded guilty to five misdemeanor counts and was sentenced to serve 90 days in jail.

However, the jail sentence will be stayed pending completion of six months in an outpatient rehab facility and three years of probation, said his attorney, Adam Cole."

I remember Marinovich lighting up Ohio State in a 42-3 win in 1989, also beating the Buckeyes (with help from the weather) the following year in Columbus. His is a sad tale - had all the ability in the world, only to fall into addiction.

Didn't root for him then, but hopeful he finds the help he needs.
