WTVN Radio in Columbus announced that Bob Conners, the former longtime morning show host at the station, passed away in Florida yesterday.

He was called "The Morning Monarch." He was classy and professional. Hineygate at the Holiday Inn on Lane. The Beat Michigan Oldies Dance. Bob was a  big part of it.

He was on Columbus radio for nearly 50 years. I grew up listening to B.C. in the Morning at home and on the car rides to school. He was an institution in this city. No radio host in this city has ever matched Bob Conners. 

When Bob Conners retired, I sent him an e-mail thanking him and saying how much I enjoyed listening for close to 20 years. His response, "Thank you for listening. The pleasure has been mine."

They are playing "Wooly Booly" in heaven today. Thank you, Bob Conners. RIP.
