Kansas is making moves in the recruiting world.

The University of Kansas has been bad at football for a very long time, save for an insane 2007 season where they went 12-1 and somehow managed to win a BCS bowl game against Virginia Tech.

To put that in perspective, they won more games in 2007 than they have in the last six seasons combined, and have won only two games total in the last two years. Which is probably why none of this makes any sense:

After already landing three recruits from the state earlier in the day, the Jayhawks added two more when Rummel 2018 teammates Ja'Marr Chase and Aaron Brule both announced their commitment on Twitter Saturday night.

...

Along with Brule and Chase, Hahnville athlete Anthony Williams and Landry-Walker teammates Devonta Jason and Corione Harris all announced their commitments while visiting Kansas for Junior Day on Saturday.

...

Chase is a four-star prospect according to 247Sports, while Brule is ranked as a three-star prospect.

It's debatable about whether or not these players will actually remain with the team all the way through signing day, but it's a big statement from head coach David Beaty. Beaty isn't fighting for his job (he had his contract extended through 2021 at the end of last season, a season in which he lost 10 games), but he's clearly trying to change the perception of his program.

In any event, compared to the rest of the country, the 2018 Kansas football recruiting class now looks like this:
