Alabama starting offensive lineman Alphonse Taylor was arrested for DUI Sunday, making it the second high profile arrest for the Crimson Tide since May. In that arrest, Hootie Jones and Cam Robinson were picked up on May 17 and charged with felony drug and firearm possession. Neither Robinson or Jones were actually prosecuted for their alleged crimes, with district attorney Jerry Jones citing hard work in a non-air conditioned environment as a mitigating factor.

Nick Saban later claimed that his players were possibly targeted by LSU fans/police, and had a pretty hilarious blowup at Paul Finebaum about his refusal to suspend either player. That may be somewhat more difficult to justify with Taylor.

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) — Alabama offensive lineman Alphonse Taylor has been arrested on a drunken driving charge, according to the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office.

Taylor remained in the Tuscaloosa County jail early Sunday afternoon on $1,000 bond. A jail official didn't have any details on his arrest. Calls to the Tuscaloosa Police Department were referred to a spokesperson, who did not immediately return a message from The Associated Press.

Still, to paraphrase a famous mathematician and dinosaur attack survivor, though most coaches would be forced to consider a suspension, Saban... finds a way.
