Tom Herman's Houston is 10-1 with a critical American conference clash against Navy looming on Saturday. Apparently, however, the former Ohio State offensive coordinator has been feeling out the South Carolina vacancy, and the feeling was mutual.

That courtship is reportedly at an end.

From yahoo.com:

Houston head coach Tom Herman is no longer a candidate to be the football coach at South Carolina, multiple sources have told Yahoo Sports.

Herman had been the school's top choice to replace Steve Spurrier, sources said, and third-party discussions had been extensive. But Herman has withdrawn his name from consideration, according to sources.

According to footballscoop.com, Herman, who just received a raise to a $3 million salary, seems "intent" on staying at Houston... unless the Texas job opens up.
