In a move that surprises no one except maybe the people writing headlines that add "minutes before kickoff" to the lede, Rutgers has officially dismissed the five players arrested for various offenses (including robbery) from the football team.
PISCATAWAY – The five Rutgers football players arrested earlier this week have all been dimissed from the program, Rutgers announced 10 minutes before kickoff of its season-opener.
Maybe one day Rutgers won't be a dysfunctional mess of a program run by an alleged cheat who himself is employed by a complete disaster of an athletic department, but I wouldn't hold my breath. As of this writing, Rutgers is losing to Norfolk State, so things are going grrrrrrreat!
