Ohio State was on the cutting edge of the sport when it hired Samuel Silverman, its full-time graphics designer, back in 2012.

Penn State — in July 2015 — is just getting on board.

Penn State Intercollegiate Athletics is seeking a Marketing Communications Specialist to be involved in a variety of facets of Penn State's broad-based and highly successful 31-sport varsity athletic programs. Among the responsibilities are: working with the Assistant Athletic Director for Creative Services and Brand Management as well as the Creative Services staff to develop, maintain and advance the athletic department brand identity through original and creative design concepts, producing original and creative designs for a variety of print and web-based materials including: posters, game programs, signage and large-scale facility graphics, media guides, advertising, tickets and ticket brochures, maps, website and email graphics, social media graphics, logos and varied promotional materials as needed as well as creative input for GoPSUsports.com.

Better late than never, but this just another example of how far Ohio State is over most of the programs in its own division.
