It's a good day to be coach of Michigan's men's basketball team.

John Beilein, he of the 166-110 record in Ann Arbor, signed a contract extension through 2020-2021, Michigan announced on Wednesday.

From 247Sports.com:

Beilein's success has translated to the next level with six NBA Draft selections, including lottery picks Burke in 2013 (Utah Jazz, No. 9) and Nik Stauskas in 2014 (Sacramento Kings, No. 8). Also drafted were Darius Morris (2011, Los Angeles Lakers, No. 41), Tim Hardaway Jr. (2013, New York Knicks, No. 24), Mitch McGary (2014, Oklahoma City Thunder, No. 21), and Glenn Robinson III (2014, Minnesota Timberwolves, No. 40).

[...]

The terms of Beilein's extension call for him to earn a base salary of $400,000 with additional compensation of $1,470,000 per year for TV, radio, internet, shoe/apparel sponsorships, consulting, promotion and other services. In separate deferred payments, Beilein will receive an additional $1.5 million annually through the University's Supplemental Defined Contributions Retirement Plan.

All in all, not a bad bit of business for Big Blue.
