I was always amazed at how hard he hit for a guy his size. Hopefully this year, he goes for the big hit less and wraps up more.
Still a beast though, and will probably be a first rounder after his JR year.
Shazier is more like 6'0" 215 lbs; like Ed Reeds size playing LB. Still a dog and my favorite player on OSUs squad. If he could bulk up to a legit 230-235 he'd be down right unstoppable.

I don't think a certain weight will dictate his potential. He's already All-American caliber at 220 or whatever..so what's 10-15 pounds going to do for him when he already stops dudes dead in their tracks when he hits? Just slow him down a little is all.

Let's say at 235 he'd add bulk to his legs and chest. It would make him that much more powerful getting off blocks, and a better run stopper up the middle. The guys my favorite players on the team because of his tenacity. He gets knocked around but always manages to find a way to the ball. The speed and instincts will be there, even if he adds weight his frame needs for the next level. I don't think he'd slow down much, if at all. James Laurinaitis was listed at 6'3" 240 while at OSU. He was more like 6'2" 230 in his OSU days. Now he's listed at 6'2" 250 for the Rams which is legit. When these guys jump from college to the pros they're always adding weight at the LB position.
May have overstated comparing to Ed Reeds measurements. I do agree that he's most likely around 6'1" 220 area. They always list these guys bigger than what they are. Hell, they start doing that in high school.

You make good points. Laurinaitis was actually about 244 lbs at the combine..so he was actually pretty big in his OSU days. He was probably 230 as a sophmore maybe.

Man Shazier looks like a little kid in that picture, and he's huge. Curtis Grant looks like a monster, let's hope he plays like one this fall.
Shazier is no twig. He has his arms up & he's farther back than the others...sort of an illusion, although, no doubt, he's is a bit smaller. As long as he continues being the best damn LB on the team, doesn't matter to me what he weighs.
