But how the hell does a coach coach so bad in the B1G and then go to the Pac 12 and then knocks off So Cal? Mind boggling.

Read Three and Out and you'll understand a little bit better. RichRod was never given a real chance to coach at AACC. Hard to focus on the field when you've got hyenas constantly gnawing on you the second you turn around.

If Rich had Mattison, they would have been back to a perennial a top 10 program very quickly. The offense wasn't the problem, it was all on the D (and recruiting for the D).
This definitely still applies. Love seeing him beating Kiffin.
That was my desktop background for the entire off-season. Loved it.
Never minded Rich Rod. Always kinda felt bad--every press conference at ttun looked like his dog died.

Just proves my theory about richrod he performs his best when dealing in the middle of nowhere or where there are no expectations. Hey you wanna rebuild random irrelevant program, he's your guy.
The worm will turn against Kiffin soon. He's looking at a potential four or five-loss season now (when you factor in Oregon, ND, and a bowl game) and SC doesn't have a defining win this season. Factor in his douchey personality, inability to foster a winning culture anywhere, and the intense spotlight that this job brings and you have the perfect storm.
It makes me feel warm inside just thinking about it. This was a preseason no. #1 team. Wow.
Not to mention the fact that because they drug out the appeals process, the scholarship restrictions are just now being felt. This season is most likely just the start of a slide. Depth has become an issue for some position groups and that will become more pronounced. Despite great recruiting, 3-4 losses could become the norm over the next few years.
I'd love to have the 2010 Rodriguez offense working for us right now.
I'm glad you don't. Hoke is an excellent recruiter and has that defense going, but man Denard in his 4th year of the Rich Rodriguez offense is a scary thought. Thank god nobody up north thought, what if we just replaced GERG with Mattison?
