From what I've heard, Meyer basically had a heart to heart with Bobek (and his parents) and let him know that he probably wouldn't see the field as a Buckeye. I believe he had the option to stay (and not play) or to transfer for a fresh start. Understandably, he chose to transfer. I think the fact that Urban shot it to him straight is one of the reasons he doesn't seem to hold any ill will to OSU.
Have to appreciate that Urban gave him the straight scoop and didn't let him dangle, sitting his collegiate football life away on the bench, when he would have been the starter on many other teams. Good luck to him at Minnesota, I hope he does well there.
Paranoid fan speaking. It's just a matter of time before one of the recent transfers is pressed by someone to claim that Meyer forced him out. It will happen soon enough.
Best of luck to Bobek. Hope there aren't any hard feelings. Grudges are a terrible thing to carry around.
@Maestro, didn't something like that come up with Kenny Hayes or his mom or something? About them not liking the way Meyer showed him the door or something?
When told OSU set school record for 50+ games this year, UFM said "That's good. We're gonna break that next year."

Sucks that this kid left..thought he was going to be a great one here! Guess he didn't like the new regime and/or competition.
