So if Miami has to vacate their last however many seasons, and PSU has already vacated last season, does that make us 8-5 last year? That's respectable

If vacated wins worked that way, then yes. But unfortunately they only take the win away from the winning team. They don't take away the loss from the losing team and make it a win. Our record stays the same, Penn State's (and Miami if forced to vacate) changes.
