Let's keep in mind that its Detroit. And its the Pistons...
"I'm Willie Buckets, and I approve this message"
These days they'll pretty much pay you if you're willing to drive out to the Palace and suffer through another pistons game.
What a joke. There is no way a college student has the cash for courtside tickets.
VIP Courtside tickets for Friday at the Palace are $190 a piece. Honestly, if I didn't drink so much during college, I could've managed to budget that in. Unfortunately, bar tabs don't pay themselves.
Imagine what a $190 tattoo looks like.
If I am not mistaken, it was before the game. He went down courtside and exchanged greetings with some guy named LeBron James.
There was a Pistons Promotion for this game. I think people could get good seats for 20 bucks.
I've never been to a ball game where I could get on the court unless I had a ticket. The ushers always end up stopping me when I get to that lower level.
Good seats and courtside seats are not the same. Did every UM student get to exchange greetings with some guy named Lebron James? If not, this is a violation.
Boy, I must have never read up on the rule that says college athletes can't have meet/have contact with famous athletes/celebrities and if they do the entire student body must also get to meet him/her.
Do you seriously not remember Terrelle Pryor and James being good friends and "exchanging greetings" often? For as many violations as TP had, that was not one of them.
Seriously dude, chill out. You are acting a fool.
TP and James didn't meet courtside at a NBA game. The reason TP got into trouble was because he sold things he earned that other students didn't have the chance to earn. The NCAA sees this as an unfair advantage, hence his suspension.
And keep your fool talk for someone else. Not sure who you are used to talking that way too, but it's not me.
Ugh. You really don't know what you are talking about here. Denard meeting and greeting with LeBron James is not an NCAA violation. Plain and simple. Don't be an obnoxious fan, because if the roles were reversed we would be ripping on delusional UM fans calling for an NCAA violation on Braxton or something for something like this.
And okay, tough guy. LOL. Y'all gonna make me act a fool, up 'n here, up 'n here!
Said confidently from behind the safety of your keyboard. I don't know if the guy is a "Tough guy" or not but if you want to insult someone then do so to their face. I didn't take his comment as a challenge to you. I took it more as instruction. Anyhow, not my fight so I'll butt out now.
I don't always take names when I kick ass but when I do, they most often belong to a Wolverine.
I'd rather you didn't butt out because if/when my mouth writes another check that my a-- can't cash, I was hoping to call on Irricoir to bail me out.
Me too, man. Me too.
I wasn't trying to insult him. It was more suggesting he relax and a tribute to DMX at the same time. He doesn't need to have a stick up his ass. I still disagree with him.
I'm too old to be considered tough. My point here is getting lost in translation. Meeting James, no violation. But if he didn't pay for his courtside seat, possible violation. That would be considered a gift, no? Gifts are against NCAA rules, no matter how stupid they are. And I'm with the other guys here...want you in my corner, Irricoir.
I think its silly to just assume he didn't pay for his seats though. Sorry for being dickish dude.
It's all good, brother. I'm not assuming he didn't pay for his seats. I just think it's a question that should be asked as I am assuming that most college kids can't afford courtside views. I know I couldn't.
Add to that I hated his 'cereal eating' after he scored against us and I really want that seat to be paid for by Mike Hart. That would be sweet.
Unless there's a monetary value to exchanging greetings with LeBron, I don't know if this really can be deemed a violation, right?
More seems like the picking of nits -- they probably already text, and if so then what's the difference?
I'm guessing that this wouldn't be a violation unless it was a semi-formalized special "package" kind of thing: i.e., "Meet the Pistons at Courtside," which other V.I.P.s could purchase to gain access, etc.; or, maybe if the University of Michigan coordinated the event/access to some degree or another and it wasn't on campus and/or an NCAA-approved activity.
Yeah - so a college kid was at a pro game. Why does this matter and who cares? Trying to find something wrong with this or assuming it's in some way improper is ridiculous.
"Do not pass me, just slow down - I can move right through you" Superchunk - Precision Auto.
Posey's $ says the NCAA cares.
Are we sure it's him? If it is, do we really care? I don't. But I didn't care that OSU kids sold their own things either and Tress stayed silent to protect them.
It's probably him.
For those who don't want to go to the site, it's denard, in the same jacket, dwarfed by Juwan Howard.
How can we be sure that's not Lil' Wayne?
The OSU violations were BS. Let's not add credibility to them by looking for other BS violations at other schools. If you see Denard driving around in a Ferrari or wearing a Rolex, let us know. Don't care about courtside at a Pistons game.
Who cares i hope he starts next year because he is the worst passing qb since the forward pass was invented
I think Taylor Martinez has the honor of holding that position.
What about me?
Bauserman can at least throw a ball more than 30 yards, I'm not so confident in Martinez or Robinson's ability to do so.
He is the high water mark for Michigan QB's in the last 12 years. He is the first Michigan QB to beat OSU and win a bowl game in the same season since the Drew Henson did it in 2000. That's right folks. A Michigan QB has not won both an OSU matchup and a bowl game since before Facebook was invented. He is all the rage in Ann Arbor.
And next year when he loses to OSU and Sparty (bringing his combined record as a starter against his teams biggest rivals to 1-5) he will go down as yet another 'great' UM QB who the fans loved and embraced as one of their all time favorites and one who won nothing of note. Denard will be the king of the losing QB's with his lone victory in a bowl and over OSU.
Again - really surprised that anyone here cares at all about this. Trying to equate this to a violation is just kind of silly. Really??? A kid can't show up at a game and meet a professional athelete without us rushing to judgement? So he plays for the bad guys - must be doing something highly illegal! I wouldn't be surprised if the UM boards were linking to this thread so that they can have a laugh on us.
If they are I want them all to know that they still suck.
Fair enough - we can agree on that!
