My wife convinced me to go to that bowl game.  I didn't want to.  I didn't want to invest in a game I didn't think we had a decent chance of even coming close in.  Not after what happened with Florida.  But I did it anyway. Thought Beanie and our D could pull the big upset. Went down a week ahead of the game and hung out with the worst assholes of any team I've ever met.  It was like being surrounded by those inbred panther shifting people from True Blood.  After they won the game, making my way running back to the hotel, dodging beer and what not, I saw college age LSU fans in the faces of elderly OSU alum SCREAMING at them.  Yelling at them that they should feel stupid for spending money on their trip to see their team lose (which was seriously messed up because of all the money their state needed due to the aftermath of Katrina).  Assholes. I can tell you that if their team gets in serious trouble I will enjoy ever fing second.

Not to support your comment because when I first read it, I too cringed a bit.  I think when others thought that you assumed that because he was black he was from the projects, which would make your comment rather gross and upsetting.  Which makes those that assumed your comment was racist, slightly hypersensitive to the race card and you not very socially aware maybe.  I cringed, so I'm throwing myself in that hypersensitive class. You almost have to be. Just my opinion.

Now, growing up in the Southend of Columbus, I grew up with quite a few people who lived in Lincoln and from the one on the Westside that they closed and tore down (can't remember the name).  Not sure if Lincoln was truly a "projects" or not, but that's what we called them.  Quite a few of the folks weren't black. To add to this folly, my folks (before I was old enough to really retain any memories) raised me as a toddler in the Lincoln projects and my Grandparents lived there before them.  But you assuming that everyone from the projects cannot behave is why I feel you are truly in the wrong. That is what made your comment gross and upsetting to me. Not race.  Technically I guess you could say I'm from the projects (if Lincoln is considered that) and I have close friends who made success out of the poor chances there were given. Assuming people cannot get along in a social environment because of where they are from, or whatever is wrong and needs to be edited out.  Again, just my two cents worth.

I really have no dog in this fight (insert PETA fine here) but usually when someone resorts to stating how many "african american friends" they have, they just made a racist statement....
