The ACC welcomed Big East refugees Pittsburgh and Syracuse into the fold this season, creating what should be (on paper) the premier basketball conference in America.

It's still early, but the new ACC only has two ranked teams: #2 Syracuse and #16 Duke. Clemson and Notre Dame have both taken down the Blue Devils over the past week, leaving them 1-2 in a 15-team conference where 10 teams are at or below .500.

Sagarin has the ACC ranked fifth among conferences, just ahead of the SEC. So what is Duke's problem this season? Interior presence. It's currently ranked 227th (!) nationally in rebounding.

This is where you might say "it won't get any easier for them" but...it will. Welcome to ACC basketball in 2014.
