Shortly after 12:30 p.m., five-star linebacker Raekwon McMillan, the nation's top inside linebacker prospect, will choose his college.

McMillan, a 6-foot-2, 242-pound, Hinesville, Georgia native will make his choice between a number of the nation's premiere football programs. Ohio State and Alabama are widely considered to be the frontrunners, but Clemson, Georgia and Auburn are all lurking hoping to snag one of the country's most coveted recruits.

Popcorn, anyone?

Not to beat a dead horse, but man... It's so weird how much hype is given to an announcement like this.

It's nobody's fault but our own (the fans), but it's crazy to think that thousands of people are watching to see what college this kid wants to go to. And it's sad to think that some people will be incredibly angry at him for his choice.

The first man gets the ((((Oyster)))), the second man gets the shell.

I always wonder if fans back in the 60's and 70's, if they had this kind of access to these kids through social media and things, if it would have been the same.  I mean I imagine it would, but it's still interesting to think about.

I don't always downvote, but I do always downvote a Michigan fan trolling the Buckeye boards.

buckguyfan1's picture

Show me the Kwon 70's style?!

jeremytwoface's picture

Yeah, I believe it would be the same...

The reason this is so overblown currently is social media and video streaming.
This just reminds of of the 30 for 30 over the weekend and how much hype comes with playing college football at a big time school. That was over 10 years ago... I can't imagine the pressures that these kids have to deal with in today's society. And of course all of this attention gives them a huge sense of entitlement.

The first man gets the ((((Oyster)))), the second man gets the shell.
