Blaz Rola: NCAA Champion and OSU athlete of the year.

Women's Rower Claire-Louise Bode and Blaz Rola of the men’s tennis team were selected as the 2012-13 Ohio State Female and Male Athletes of the Year, respectively. Bode and Rola each won national championships this spring.

Bode was named a first team All-American and All-Big Ten honoree as she led Ohio State's first varsity eight to a 9-3 overall record throughout the 2013 season, including a gold medal at the Big Ten championships. The first varsity eight finished third at the NCAA Championship, providing enough points for the Buckeyes to win their first national title in program history.

Rola won the men's singles national championship one year after winning the doubles championship. He lost one match all season and helped Ohio State to a third-place finish in the team competition.

Bode and Rola are now eligible for the Big Ten Female and Male Athlete of the Year awards.
